Reel Logix, Inc sponsors Philadelphia 2006 First Glance Film
Festival featured in Time Magazine.
Reel Logix was a proud sponsor of the
2006 First Glance Film Festival,
featured in the June 5th edition of Time Magazine. One of the 10 featured
festivals in the article, the First Glance Film Festival was held in
Philadelphia June 1st - 4th.
The festival began in a small Philadelphia theater company as a one-time
opportunity for friends to show their films on a rented video projector
and has grown in five years into a big bicoastal event, with festivals
both in Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
Lisa McLaughlin* in her article for Time states "If watching the stars
at Cannes has made you long for a red-carpet experience of your own, you
don't have to fly to the South of France. The number of homegrown film
festivals has exploded over the past decade, from about 100 in the early
1990s to more than 600 today".
A showcase for film and video, First Glance featured talks with
up-and-coming talented directors, actors and producers. Both students and
professionals showcased feature films, documentaries, short films,
animation and experimental work. In addition local film enthusiasts
enjoyed an opening night party and an awards ceremony. This year's
program had approximately 50 films on the bill.
